All persons/companies wishing to install and operate standby /private generators must apply to the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission for a licence.
The licence is granted by the Minister of Public Utilities based on a recommendation given by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission.
At present the licence fee set by the Ministry of Public utilities is $12.00 per Kw. This fee may be waived in certain instances.
The application for a licence to operate a standby generator can be completed either by hand or typed, and must include four (4) copies of the Form A and three (3) copies of the Form B. On submission of the application forms an administrative fee is payable as set out in the attached notice.
We wish to advise that it is unlawful to operate a generator without a valid licence.
